Poet, Chemist, Mystic

Perhaps they stroll through the woods,

listen closely for the echo of the future,

and wonder, as I do:

what if Frost had taken the other road?

Dragons and Chiggers, with watercolor artist father,

Howard S. Carman, Sr.

Photo by Karen L. Carman and Sheri Carman Hogue

This collection of paintings (Sr.) and poems (Jr.) captures nearly 90 years of memories, dreams, and visions for father and son. Both are ekphrastic: some poems written in response to paintings; some art painted in response to poems; some written and painted independently in response to common experience or memory.
